Our mission is to stop CCHMC from eliminating our pension and cutting our compensation. To achieve this mission, we have no choice but to unionize. By unionizing, we will have a collective voice to fight back against CCHMC Management's cuts to our retirement, our compensation, and our future.

Under the CCHMC Pension, CCHMC contributed 15% of your pay to your pension every year.
Under the new CCC Plan, you just took a MASSIVE cut to your compensation.
- If you joined CCHMC between 2015 through 2023, you just took a 10% cut to your compensation. You were getting a contribution of 15% of your pay towards your retirement; now you're going to get a 5% contribution. Congratulations on your 10% compensation cut. Management is hoping that you're too confused to care.
- If you joined CCHMC between 2009 through 2014, despite your 10+ years of service, you just took a 9% cut to your compensation. You were getting a contribution of 15% of your pay towards your retirement; now you're going to get a 6% contribution. Congratulations on your 9% compensation cut. Management thinks that you're incapable of doing simple math and is counting on you not to fight back.
- If you joined CCHMC between 2004 through 2008, despite your 15+ years of service, you just took an 8% cut to your compensation. You were getting a contribution of 15% of your pay towards your retirement; now you're going to get a 7% contribution. Congratulations on your 8% compensation cut. Did you get an 8% raise to compensate you for your compensation cut?
- If you joined CCHMC between 1999 through 2003, despite your 20+ years of service, you just took a 7% cut to your compensation. You were getting a contribution of 15% of your pay towards your retirement; now you're going to get an 8% contribution. Congratulations on your 7% compensation cut. You stuck around CCHMC because of this pension. Now Management is sticking it to you, especially as you get closer to retirement. Are you going to take it? Or do you want to fight back?
- If you joined CCHMC between 1994 through 1998, despite your 25+ years of service, you just took a 6% cut to your compensation. You were getting a contribution of 15% of your pay towards your retirement; now you're going to get a 9% contribution. Congratulations on your 6% compensation cut. You have devoted 25+ years to CCHMC. These last few years of your career were your highest-earning years. You and your family have been counting on this pension. Now, despite all of your service, your pension is done growing and your total compensation has been cut. Are you angry? Management is hoping you keep your mouth shut.

What Happened to My Pension?
On September 16, 2024, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center management announced that it is eliminating the pension that has been in place for decades. You used to get a 15% contribution from CCHMC. Now, you are going to get a 5-9% contribution, depending on your years of service. In other words, you just took a MASSIVE cut to your compensation.
Why Did CCHMC Eliminate My Pension?
It saves them money! CCHMC has seemingly endless funds for marketing, new construction, expansion, and raises and bonuses for executives. But not for its employees and their families.
Instead of contributing 15% of your pay--and 15% of the pay of more than 15,000+ CCHMC employees--CCHMC will now pay just a fraction of that amount towards your retirement. Yet, CCHMC Management has the audacity to claim that this change is somehow in your best interest.
You got a measly raise this year and took a HUGE cut to your compensation. What's next? If we do nothing to fight back, what other cost-cutting measures is Management going to take at our expense?
Why Do We Need to Unionize?
Unionization is the only way to fight back. CCHMC sought no input from its employees before deciding to eliminate our pension. They think that we can't do simple math. They think that we're too dumb to realize that we just took a massive cut to our compensation.
Unionization gives us a collective voice. It allows us, as one, to demand the pension be saved. And while we are at it, we can demand better raises, lower health insurance copays, and free parking.
CCHMC Management can do whatever it wants, whenever it wants, unless we join together. Do you think their cuts are going to stop at eliminating our pension?!
